Traffic and Parking

Parking at the school is very limited, especially during drop off and pick up times. The parking lot will be open only to busses and for staff. Drop off children only at the school side curb and right up against the curb. Please don’t drop them off in the middle of the street or across the street. Feel free to park your car on the far side of the street and walk your child across the street on the crosswalk.

  • ECE parents will sign their children in with the ECE teacher.
  • K-1st students will go to the café for breakfast.
  • 2nd – 5th students will go to their classroom for breakfast.

Students arriving after 7:45 am will be marked tardy. After 7:45 am, students must go to the front office to get a tardy slip and to explain why they were late. Students with three or more tardies will be subject to disciplinary procedures.

Students will exit in the front of the building. Please pick up your child with their teacher. Teachers will be displaying posters with their name and room number. Children will be released only to adults that are listed in the school’s records as contacts. Students should not be picked up before the bell rings at 3:15 p.m. If the child has an occasional doctor’s appointment please notify the teacher or the front office ahead of time so that the child can be ready to go without causing a disruption to teaching and learning in the classroom.

Snow Days and Cold Days

Parents can check in the district’s web site and the local television channels to find out if schools are closed for the day or if there is a delayed entrance or dismissal time.

Children who are absent due to weather are not excused. Students are expected to attend school every day that the school is open. Every once in a while the Denver Public Schools district will close schools for the entire district due to severe weather.

Inclement Weather

Even on days in which there is precipitation, student will not enter the building until 7:30 am.

On days that have precipitation or are colder than 35 degrees, the school will hold indoor recess.
